Hi, I’m Carolyn!
I’ve always been curious about what drives people, what holds them back, and what makes them thrive. As a coach, I help leaders uncover blind spots, strengthen emotional intelligence skills, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and alignment with their core values.
My customized approach draws from 30+ years of leadership in law, ministry, and nonprofits. I’m an ICF-certified transformational coach who partners with executives, managers, pastors, and teams to:
Build healthy, values-driven cultures
Communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization
Overcome limiting narratives and unhelpful patterns
Lead with self-awareness, courage, and intentionality
As a 1.5-generation Korean American immigrant and a female leader in male-dominated contexts, I have personal experience in successfully navigating cultural, generational, and gender dynamics. I especially enjoy coaching women, Asian-Americans, and others who are often the “first” or the “only” in their leadership spaces.
Previously, I served for 17 years as a pastor and executive team member at Calvary Community Church, where I led all aspects of building a small groups ministry from the ground up, engaging over 2,000 people. Earlier in my career, I worked as a litigation attorney, sharpening my skills in critical analysis, communication, and advocacy; tools I now bring to my coaching work. I am a speaker, trainer, cohort teacher, published author, podcast host, and founding board member of the Small Group Network, which connects 30,000+ church leaders worldwide.
I have been married since 1994 and we’ve been blessed with two amazing young adult daughters who thankfully, still want to hang out with their parents!
